Sourcing Talk: Virtual Meetings

November 3, 2020

Global Sources continues to bring sourcing experience online this November through Sourcing Talk – a series of live webinars and events on the latest industry topics and trends featuring suppliers, buyers, and experts from all around the globe.

Supplier Stories: making the most of virtual meetings

A weekly live webinar, Supplier Stories offers first-hand perspectives from suppliers and addresses the key trends in the market. It also provides relevant tips and insights on how to build and maintain productive business partnerships. Today’s episode focused on virtual meetings – be they via Zoom, Google Meet, or other channels.

Representatives of four different companies shared their perspectives:

  • Dongguan YongFang Electronic Technology
  • Luan Everpeace Knitting
  • Xing Yuan Electronics
  • Quanzhou Hoosam Manufacturing

Ivy Zhu, Sales Manager at Xing Yuan Electronics, related how their company has used images and virtual meetings to get orders done when needed in a hurry: in short, the key is to figure out which parts of an order can be confirmed by the buyer with just a visual inspection, such as raw materials required, and get to work on them while waiting for the physical sample to arrive at the buyer’s location.

Hand feel is vital in the knitwear industry. But Everpeace’s Carina Xu shared how they have used virtual meetings to at least partly offset the difficulties of not being able to hold meetings in person. This includes video conferencing to show the fit of garments, and virtual visits to the factory, where buyers can see the characteristics of the material at different stages of the production process.

To watch the full disscussion, plus the profile of Dongguan YoingFangh Electronic Technology, a preview of the upcoming Global Sources Virrtual Summit fro ecommerce, and an update on new trends in electornics products, watch the live stream playback on Facebook or watch on YouTube
