Apple to start making iPhone 12 in India, reducing reliance on China
Reports have it that Foxconn, Apple’s manufacturing partner, will be assembling the iPhone 12 in India as Apple seeks to correct last year’s single-location mistake. It remains to be seen if this will push through, but according to the Business Standard, Foxconn plans to rebalance its sourcing and the iPhone 12 is to be “manufactured at the Hon Hai Precision Industry (Foxconn) facility in Tamil Nadu .. for the domestic as well as the export market.” This same facility currently produces the iPhone 11.
