Suppliers are integrating brighter LEDs and adding more tools fit for outdoor use.
- Value-added features: China makers of LED flashlights are incorporating new emergency functions in recent models. Among these upgrades include adopting flashing SOS alarm and red diodes. A compass, knife, drill, scissors and screw may also be included in the design. Those that serve as charging hubs for other digital devices are equipped with high-capacity batteries.
- High-power LEDs: Recently released models employ up to 7W bulbs that generate at most 630 lumens. Units are purchased from SSC and Cree, with the latter’s Q3 variant emitting almost 101 lumens under 350mA. Another series has luminous flux of 240 lumens at 1,000mA.
