The second installment in this three-part series discusses the car DVD player selection in Guangdong.
Guangdong province remains the largest manufacturing hub for car DVD players in China. The industry is expected to continue growing on the back of a strengthening automotive sector, both local and global.
Makers forecast stable output in the months ahead. In general, small and midsize businesses yield 1,000 to 50,000 units a month. These own factories 5,000sqm in size and manned by 100 to 600 workers. Larger operations have a monthly output exceeding 100,000 units. Their facilities reach 7,000sqm and the personnel complement surpasses 800.
In-dash models dominate Guangdong’s car DVD player sector with a 70 percent share of output. Variants with a 2-DIN configuration represent 60 percent, and this is expected to rise in coming months. For the display, 7, 8 and 9in LCD screens are the popular options.
Headrest, sun visor and flip-down versions can be customized as the main player’s control. These types can support up to 19in panels.
