Top 20 garments & fashion accessories (September 2013): Month for pretty

Overall, September was a solid month for the top 20 garments and fashion accessories on, with inquiries that month increasing from August for all but six categories.

Hair weaves lead the pack, gathering the biggest share of requests for information in September as importers stocked up mainly on products that prettify. Inquiries that month rose 48 percent from August and are an impressive 11 times higher YoY.

Fashion jewelry was likewise popular among buyers in September, with chains and sets improving on August numbers. The latter category received 96 percent more inquiries, enough to break into the top 20 and land 18th place.

Demand for polyester scarves, meanwhile, is heating up as the weather starts to cool down. Aside from nearly doubling on month, requests for information in September jumped 473 percent YoY.

As for the garments and textiles subgroup, cotton fabric is the strongest performer there as expanding selections drive buyer activity. From a monthly perspective, September inquiries for the line climbed 36 percent. YoY growth exceeded 450 percent.
