Top 20 first-timer leather mobile phone cases broke into the August list on the back soaring buyer interest. Inquiries on GlobalSources.com for the category jumped 82 percent from July 2013 and more than 1,200 percent YoY as importers responded to growing demand for "luxurious" cellphone cases.
Buyers covered the other end of the mobile phone cases market by also upping orders for less-expensive TPU models. This product group gathered 1,706 percent more inquiries from 12 months ago.
Meanwhile, Android tablet PCs, power banks and USB flash drives continue to hold their positions as the list’s big three despite a relatively slow August. Month-on-month inquiries for the first two actually fell while USB flash drives became 20 percent more popular.
From an annual perspective, only laptops fell into negative territory. Industry observers have predicted that global shipments of tablet PCs in fourth-quarter 2013 will surpass laptops and desktop PCs.
