April marks the 24th consecutive month that tablet PCs topped buyer activity on GlobalSources.com.
Led by Android-powered models, tablets outpaced laptops in both MoM and YoY inquiries, as if to fast track projections that tablet PCs will surpass laptops and other portable PCs by 2014.
USB flash drives and power banks are ranked second and third, spots they have held in the top 20 since February. April numbers were slower than March, but are still stronger from just a year ago. Power banks attracted more than 600 percent inquiries from April 2012.
Bluetooth speakers performed best among auxiliary products. Buyer interest surged 32 times YoY, spurred by the steady stream of releases, including models boasting futuristic nontraditional housings.
