Electronic muscle stimulator makers expand therapeutic, specialized options

New models offer more programs enhanced to target specific ailments.

The latest advancements in China’s electronic muscle stimulators revolve around augmenting product functionality via additional therapy modes, specialized features and programs targeting individual body parts. Aesthetic value is also given more attention with the release of beauty salon versions.

Muscle stimulator

Genius Chip’s handheld electronic muscle stimulator has six built-in massage modes and a USB port.

As regards healing techniques, suppliers are coming up with new pulse waveform patterns to simulate hand massage better. One such manufacturer is Guangzhou Genial Technology Co. Ltd, which developed the Davi. This patented method is incorporated in the maker’s health management models and uses pressure sensors to determine kneading power, direction and rhythm. The parameters are transferred to a graph that reveals the products’ vibration design.

Typical electronic muscle stimulators generate triangular, square and sine undulations.

Laser therapy is another option available in latest releases. It helps lower blood viscosity, prevent clotting and stabilize blood pressure. The use of a laser therapy lamp can increase prices by up to $300. Meanwhile, music therapy yields sound and pulse waves in similar frequencies.

Both treatments are available in Shenzhen Haoyisheng Electronic Technology Co. Ltd’s HYS-3008 model. The supplier is working on a version that generates faster oscillation. The manufacturer has launched an electronic muscle stimulator equipped with ultrasonic therapy. The feature raises quotes by more than $150. Meanwhile, Yingzhijian Tech. Mfy Ltd offers a handheld alternative with a spa setting. It operates on constant temperature between 45 and 50 C.

Releases with infrared and magnetic therapy types, and iontophoresis are also available from China companies.

Suppliers are boosting production of versions with multiple programs specially designed for specific illnesses and problem areas. One example is Guangzhou Genial’s JOZ-J22 model, which has 30 modes to help ease hypertension, varicose veins, diabetes, pruritus, limb numbness and pain. It addresses osteoarthritis, rheumatic and traumatic arthritis, cervical spondylosis and the effects of apoplexy. The unit also relieves swelling in the appendages, head- and muscle ache, chronic inflammation in the pelvis and tennis elbow.

The maker carries a model with 14 programs individually targeting the ears, palms, soles, cervical vertebra, shoulders, lumbar muscles, elbows, knees, back, psoas, buttocks, arms, thighs and legs. It has an automatic cycle setting as well.

Shenzhen Haoyishen has released two versions that aid in alleviating insomnia and constipation. The supplier will launch an alternative for diabetic patients by year-end.

Shenzhen Xunfengtong XFT Electronics Co. Ltd offers the new XFWT-2001 model for foot drop cases. The product has two modes analyzing the user’s gait to correct the movement, train the muscles and rebuild torn nerves. It consists of a host with a knee bandage and electrode pads, a remote control doubling as an analyzer and a neuromuscular locator. All three are wirelessly connected via RF.

Gender-specific versions are likewise available. Guangzhou Genial has a device that keeps women’s mood and hormones in check by targeting sensitive areas and internal organs.

Shenzhen Xunfengtong (XFT)’s pelvic muscle trainer analyzes the patient’s physical condition and suggests suitable healing modes from its 12 built-in programs.

Yingzhijian’s Y-M1013 model, augments breast tissue. The company’s latest release contours the face via the adoption of four crescent-shaped electrode pads targeting the cheeks, chin, and the areas surrounding and below the eyes. These units have delicate designs and come in peach-colored housings for a more feminine look.

To respond to growing interest in electronic muscle stimulators for beauty salon use, makers are increasing production of handheld and floor versions in fashionable styles.

Guangzhou Genial has launched standing counterparts in visually appealing shapes for three of its models. One unit comes in white with an arched black front, while another is in a streamlined red design. The maker also offers a handheld foot acupoint electronic muscle stimulator with anti-static and -bacterial cotton socks for a full contact. The hosiery is equipped with silver fibers that promote blood circulation, and provide fast conduction, radiation protection and deodorization. This is opposed to the typical floor construction such as Shenzhen Haoyisheng’s HYS-619 model. It has two electrode surfaces ergonomically shaped to accommodate soles.

Suppliers are likewise improving products’ connectivity and entertainment value, offering versions with USB capability and units doubling as MP3 players. Guangzhou Genial’s JOZ-B62 model is said to be the first electronic muscle stimulator that can recharge its battery via a USB port. Genius Chip (Shenzhen) Ltd has similar releases with both functions. The company also offers an version that doubles as a wireless mouse to provide treatment while the patient is using a computer.

Improving visual appeal further, Shenzhen Haoyisheng launched several units shaped like mobile phones in trendy silver and champagne colors.

Desktop, floor and handheld electronic muscle stimulators are available from China. The selection includes models with electrode pads that can be placed on any body part, belt and pillow types, and options for the eyes and feet. Most releases with a pulse frequency of 1kHz or less are handheld. Desktop and floor alternatives support up to 10kHz.

The majority of the units have multiple intensity levels but a 30-step version is standard. All desktop and floor types, and most handheld options, are fitted with LCDs. Many have digital images of the human body highlighting acupuncture points. Some include touchscreens and voice prompt.
