Polychromatic zinc alloy models vivify emblem, lapel pins line

Makers enliven selections with the release of zinc alloy models in a range of gradient hues.

TOP TRENDS

  • Metal pieces abound: Zinc alloy dominates material options as it is durable and scratch-resistant, and costs less than alternatives. Many upscale models utilize bronze, copper and brass because of their high malleability and suitability for complex patterns. Steel is adopted for the least expensive pieces.
  • Colorful details: Hard and imitation enameling remains the top finishing choices because they provide the sharpest patterns and hues. The latter method, however, yields a shinier surface and wider range of shades. Dual-tone or polychrome electroplating is another popular method. The process also protects releases from rusting.
  • Environment-friendly models: Pins in recyclable and sustainable materials such as wood and bamboo are gaining traction. Some makers are employing postindustrial scarps that would otherwise be discarded. To prevent possible health-hazards, many companies are adopting nickel- and lead-free inputs.
