- Denser covers: To yield covers that are durable, companies are utilizing materials, weighing at least 200gsm. These are often laminated for increased strength and water resistance.
- 'Green' designs: Most suppliers are using recycled and wood-free paper. Aside from helping conserve forest resources, the inputs cost lower than virgin wood pulp variants.
- Enhanced aesthetics: For increased visual appeal, the covers are often wrapped with PU, PVC, fabric, leather or silicone. The last is also favored because it is available in a range of vivid colors.
