Narrow, medium belt widths prevail

Suppliers are concentrating on designs that measure a maximum of 2cm across.

 TOP TRENDS

  • Slim styles: Makers are veering away from broad models resembling obis and corsets to more versatile designs that fit most belt loops. Recent releases are often within 2cm in width. Chain types are even thinner at 0.7cm.
  • Bright colors: The prevalent hues for the band include orange, light blue and pink. A polished finish is also used for buckles, which are mostly plated in a gold tone. Rivets and other metal trimmings follow the same chromatic scheme.
  • PU leather favored: The material is the mainstream choice among suppliers because it can mimic the texture of genuine hides while remaining cost-effective. The polymer can be dyed into different shades, stamped with diverse patterns and have a glossy or matte surface.
  • Price & sales forecasts: Makers intend to keep quotes steady in the months ahead despite rising raw material costs. Exporters are optimistic that overseas revenue will increase 10 percent owing to their participation in various international trade shows.
