Makers are reducing minimum illumination and adding touchscreens, G-sensor, GPS and Google Maps.
- Better performance: China makers of car rearview systems are upgrading components to boost efficiency. Foremost of the efforts is decreasing lens illumination from 0.5 lux down to 0.1 lux to enable models to work in low-light conditions. Several units offer night vision, with effective distance exceeding 3m. GPS, parking and G-sensors are integrated, along with software such as Google Maps.
- User convenience: Under this measure, suppliers are including touchscreen LCD or LED monitors in upcoming releases. Some come with a multilanguage menu that supports various languages, including German, Spanish, Italian, French, Russian, and both simplified and traditional Chinese.
