Preparing for the Chinese New Year production stoppage

by Renaud Anjoran

It is this time of year again when factories don’t know how long their employees will stay… When traveling around China becomes a nightmare… And when all the buyers say “you must ship my order before the holiday”…

Chinese New Year is coming up soon!

We even heard of a few factories planning to close this weekend.

The official CNY day is January 31 this year. So, if your products are not on a boat or in a plane in 20 days, you will have to wait for a few more weeks.

I thought it was time to revisit an old article that gives excellent advice to importers on this topic:

Chinese New Year: how to manage the disruption?

If you have several productions under way, good luck with timing!

Renaud Anjoran has been managing his quality assurance agency (Sofeast Ltd) since 2006. In addition, a passion for improving the way people work has pushed him to launch a consultancy to improve factories and a web application to manage the purchasing process. He writes advice for importers on qualityinspection.org.
