Win-win Cooperation to Make an Optoelectronic Feast
According to the latest news from the CIOE Organizing Committee, the Chinese Optical Society (COS) Standing Committee will be holding the Chinese Optical Society Annual Conference 2011 on Sept. 5 to 8, 2011, at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center, concurrent with the 13th China International Optoelectronic Exposition (CIOE 2011).
The conference is sponsored by the Chinese Optical Society, organized by the CIOE Organizing Committee, Shenzhen University and Shenzhen Optical Society, and co-organized by the China International Optoelectronic Conference (CIOEC). Nine professional journals from the optical industry, including the Acta Optica Sinica, Chinese Journal of Lasers, and China Optoelectronics will fully participate in and report the conference.
The Chinese Optical Society Annual Conference, which is held every two years, is regarded as the largest academic conference in the optical industy. The COS Annual Conference 2011 will set 20 sessions, covering nearly 100 sub-sections in the optics and optical engineering fields; attendees will include university professors, scientific institute researchers, military industrial institution researchers, enterprise managers, and other professionals in the optics and optical engineering fields.
Aiming at providing expert suggestions on enhancing the enterprise's innovation ability and development potential, the conference will hold various on-site workshops attended by academics, enterprise researchers and managers, etc.
This win-win cooperation will establish a comprehensive platform to promote the technology innovations and accelerate achievement transformation in the optics and optical engineering fields.
The conference organizing committee will publish the abstract collection of proceedings. All submitted papers will be subject to the editorial committee identified by the COS for approval, and the outstanding papers will be published on the appointed journals.
The conference organizing committee will organize an academic visit to Hong Kong. Details will be announced later. Updates will be released on the Chinese Optical Society website and the official website of China International Optoelectronic Exposition.
About the Chinese Optical Society (COS)
The Chinese Optical Society is a nongovernmental academic community of the scientists who work in the optics and optical engineering fields in China, for the purpose of uniting the domestic and international scientists to promote and realize the development of science and technology in optics and optical engineering fields. It was established in 1979 with Wang Daheng as its first President, who is the famous optics expert, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and the tenured honorary chairman of China International Optoelectronic Exposition. The Chinese Optical Society holds the academic annual conference every two years. For more information, visit www.cncos.org.
About the China International Optoelectronic Exposition (CIOE)
China International Optoelectronic Exposition (CIOE), established in 1999 in Shenzhen, is an annual event held from Sept. 6 to 9 at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center, China. As the world's largest exhibition for optoelectronics, CIOE has been a UFI-approved member since 2007. CIOE 2011 will once again be held at Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center, which covers an area of more than 100,000sqm and comprising four concurrent sub-expositions, focusing on optical communications & sensors, lasers & infrared applications, precision optics, and LEDs. The event will also be co-located with the Global Sourcing Fair: Electronics. For more information, visit www.cioe.cn.
