• Shift to LED: While UHP and UHE bulbs remain widely adopted, more makers are turning to LED variants for midrange and upscale projectors. This is because LEDs promise better display, low noise and power consumption, and long life span, which can reach up to 20,000hr.
• LCD & DLP panels: China suppliers employ LCD, DLP or LCoS screens. The first two are increasingly employed for home theater and entertainment, education and conference applications because of their cost efficiency yet strong display attributes.
• Value added: To reinforce multifunctionality, makers are integrating analog or digital TV tuners, DVD players, and LAN and wireless connectivity. Many are improving the software used to support PIP, image superimposition and enhanced effects.
• Price & export forecasts: Most suppliers expect quotes to decrease by 5 percent in coming months due to the declining cost of key components. Overseas revenue will likely be stable or increase by 5 to 15 percent.
