Amazon expert Jason Tay shared about scaling an online business through multiple streams at Global Sources’ most recent meetup with online sellers.
The meetup was held on the evening of 21st March 2017 at the sleek Spacemob co-working space in Singapore. Attended by over 40 people, the meetup featured a brief introduction of Global Sources followed by an hour-long keynote by Jason, as well as a hearty question and answer session towards the end. The attendees also mingled and networked over drinks and pizza before and after the presentations.
Bernie Holmbraker, Vice President of Community and Content, formally kicked off the session with an introduction of the Global Sources brand and its range of key resources to help online sellers, including the online supplier directory, trade shows as well as the Global Sources Summit.
Jason followed and spoke about tapping into multiple product sourcing streams, including Global Sources, as well as multiple selling and marketing streams.
Jason is no novice at Amazon selling, having grown his sales by a tremendous 2,152% during his first year utilising the platform. Jason has been an advocate of scaling and generating multiple income streams, and he has since expanded his private labeled products beyond Amazon to his own brand webstores, other platforms such as Lazada, Qoo10 and Shopee, in physical stores, and at exhibitions alongside companies like Ikea. Jason also advised on the process of researching, testing and scaling, including strategies on picking out products and emerging top of the list based on search insights and analytics.
Other highlights include the meetup being held for the first time at venue partner and sponsor Spacemob, a state-of-the-art co-working space boasting full business services such as IT, finance, operations, back office support and health insurance plans, and a vibrant community of entrepreneurs, freelancers, SMEs and MNCs.
